Sugar increases cholesterol
A study published in JAMA shows that added sugars in foods give a deterioration of the vet spectrum in the blood.

 The research was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Data were analyzed from 6113 adults who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).

Between 1999 and 2006 The subjects were divided into groups depending on the percentage of added sugars in the total number of calories (5-10% group, 10 to 17.5% group, 17,5-25% group and> 25% group).

In the reference group this figure was smaller than 5%. With the aid of the statistical relationship between the number of sugars, the HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and triglyceride levels was determined

 On average, the percentage of added sugars in the total number of calories to 15.8%
There was a significant correlation between the consumption of added sugars and both HDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

For the reference group, the HDL cholesterol was 1.5 mol / l, triglycerides content 1,2 mol / l, and LDL cholesterol 3.0 mol / l (women).
